The Electricity program prepares students for employment as an electrician’s helper, residential electrician, and commercial electrician. Specialized classroom instruction and laboratory practical application trains the student in the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring and equipment such as motors, motor controls, and power and lighting systems in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Students learn how to locate and correct electrical and equipment malfunctions using electrical test instruments such as the ammeter and volt-ohmmeter.
