LTC & LCSO Unveil Student-Built Community Relations Unit
Lively Technical College and Leon County Sheriff’s Office to Unveil Student-Built Community Relations Unit
Tallahassee, FL – Wednesday, August 28, 2024
Lively Technical College (LTC) will host Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil on Thursday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m. on campus, for the unveiling of the newly upgraded LCSO Community Relations Unit. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office partnered with LTC’s Building and Trades program to transform a vital community asset. The collaboration resulted in a more functional and engaging space for community interactions.
Captain Jimmy Goodman praised the partnership. “We are deeply grateful to Mr. Keith Moore and his talented students for their invaluable contributions to the LCSO Community Relations Trailer upgrade. The installation of a concession window and essential shelving has transformed the trailer into a true community event asset. This enhancement allows us to securely store items and engage with citizens more effectively. Our presence at community events, where we offer snow cones, popcorn, and crime prevention information, has been significantly elevated.
The upgraded trailer enables the LCSO Community Relations Unit to better serve the community. The swift and skillful completion of this project by Mr. Moore and his team provides enhanced services to all residents of Leon County. We are immensely thankful for their exceptional work!”
LTC’s Building and Trades program continually seeks opportunities to give back to the community. Under Mr. Moore’s guidance, students have participated in numerous projects, including Habitat for Humanity efforts and the relocation of the Old Capitol for Tallahassee’s bicentennial celebration. LTC is committed not only to educating students in their chosen fields but also to instilling life lessons on the importance of community service.
